TRI data collection for calendar year 2015 begins January 1, 2016 and the submit deadline is July 1, 2016.
The Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) was created by Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPRCA) and further enforced under Section 6607 of the Pollution Prevention Act. It requires data from U.S. facilities that meet all three of the following reporting criteria:
1.) In a specific industry
2.) Employs 10 or more full time employees
3.) Manufactures or processes more than 25,000 lbs. or uses more than 10,000 lbs. of a TRI-listed chemical
Facilities that meet these criteria must submit TRI data to both the EPA and the state where the facility is located. Non-compliance can result in civil penalties and massive fines.
First American Safety and Environmental Services can assist businesses in initial fillings and maintaining existing compliance. For more information, contact us.
